The Land of Argos is under threat. Nights have become longer and the constant threat of monsters has expanded to the point where it’s risky to go outside at night alone. Evacuation of the entire planet is taking place, and you have a ticket for the last ship out.
Your goal is to survive with the other players until you can be rescued by the evacuation shuttle. You will have to build shelter, gather resources and create defences against the monsters. As the day progresses, the nights will get longer and more deadly, so planning and cooperation is vital. The group will have an experienced Minecraft player as their leader and guide to help all builders, explorers, creators, defenders and miners survive the day.
The Day (8:30am to 5pm) will include Lunch (Pizza) and well as plenty of fruit and water are always available. The day will be an intense and exciting experience, and friendship, adventure, creativity, teamwork and no doubt some drama will ensue.
Sponsored by NorthTec, the 9th and 10th Great Argolia Minecraft Gamedays are happening these holidays.
About the day:
It will be a busy Minecraft playing day. It will be intensive from the moment we kick off till near the end. After you arrive we will introduce you to team leaders and you will set up your computer/laptop at a desk with others. Before we start we will get in groups and talk about a plan and the different roles we might take. Every term we try something a little bit different, and this term is no exception.
The aim of the game is to keep your team alive until a rescue shuttle can come and collect you and the other players. Until that happens the world will slowly become more dangerous and risky. Players will have to build defences, organise and plan, as well as build beautiful creations. Exploration will also be vital.
Once we start the day, our team will be there to support and guide and we will be taking regular breaks (as hard as that is – we know). Fruit and water will always be available and it will be a Pizza feast for lunch.
Winding down will happen from about 4:30 pm when we will have a talk about how the day has gone. Stories of dramas and adventures. By 5, everyone will be packing up and saying a final goodbye to their team.
